"8th Annual Interiors & Exteriors Exhibition Profile: Interiors & Exteriors - Goa's biggest exhibition on art, furniture, interior design, building & construction products was organized by media productions, under the banner of IIID – Goa regional centre (event associate) & supported by IIA - Goa. It was held between 9th - 12th Feb 2005.
On the last day of the event a drawing competition was organized by IIID-Goa for kids. The topic was 'My dream room'.

"Thinking out of the box"

Profile: IIID – Goa celebrated world interiors day with a presentation by Ms. Jyoti Ratan from Mumbai. Ms. Ratan spoke to the audience on how professionals can increase efficiency by improving one's personality and communication skills. A IIID committee meeting preceded this presentation and the event concluded with cocktails & dinner. .


                                                                                                                                                          

7-7-7 "An Eco–Tourism commitment"


Profile: IIID – Goa organized 777 an eco tourism event held along the seven kilometer beach stretch from Baga to Sinquerim, highlighting seven points of eco tourism.

The seven point agenda:
  1. Water - A focus on recharging the water table and avoiding contamination of the same.
  2. Garbage - collection, segregation & management, criteria to identify the garbage dumps.
  3. Plastics - a necessary evil.
  4. Alternative energy - conservation of existing resources and discovering new avenues.
  5. Infrastructure - public toilets,roads,street furniture etc.
  6. Think organic - tree planting, organic lifestyle.
  7. S.O.S. - Save our shores. Marine pollution and conservation of the marine environment.
The aims and objectives:
  1. To create awareness about the benefits of eco- tourism among the general public.
  2. To bring stakeholders of the industry up to date with latest advances on the subject.
  3. To expose policy makers to examples of other success stories.
The event included competitions for school & college students which received a tremendous response and all the projects submitted by the students were displayed at an exhibition held at the tourist hostel at calangute.
A day long closed door deliberation was held amongst professionals in this field & a report was prepared based on their conclusions & submitted to the government.
Events were held on the beach like a marathon, a walkathon, a fire fighting display etc.
Tourists & locals alike participated in this event. At various locations on the beach and on roads leading to the beach informative signage were installed t6o spread information & awareness.




Friday - Event 1

Profile:

The first Friday event was a joint effort by IIID – Goa & IIA - Goa held at Fundacao Oriente. Architect Siddharth Paroolkar presented his work and also spoke about presentation techniques and professional ethics.

Friday - Event 2 (Nerolac presentation)

Profile: The nerolac paint company held a presentation on new kinds of paints & painting techniques. The event held at the Majestic, Porvorim was well attended. A IIID committee meeting was held before the presentation & the event concluded with cocktails & dinner. .

Friday - Event 3 (La Cucina Impressa/Pergo flooring-presentation)

Profile: Gaurav Pokle, a young entrepreuner opened a new outlet selling modular kitchens at Panjim, and to commemorate this he held a presentation for architects & designers at the international centre. A product presentation of Pergo wooden floorings was also part of the event & members displayed power point presentations of kitchen interiors they had worked on. Earlier the IIID committee members held their meeting and the event concluded with cocktails & dinner. .


Friday - Event 4 (Hindware - presentation)

Profile: Hindware held a presentation of sanitaryware & wellness products among designers about their new range of products. The event that followed a IIID committee meeting was held at the Marriott, followed by cocktails & dinner. .
